Amy Lucy Nalbandian March 25 , 1943 - January 21 , 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amy (Arminee) Nalbandian. She was the epitome of strength, grace, and love—widely recognized as a true matriarch who gave everything to her family and inspired everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and wisdom that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Amy (Arminee) Beylerian was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by strength, compassion, creativity, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Amy met her future husband, Hagop Nalbandian, in Alexandria before immigrating to Montreal, Canada, in the late 1960s. The two married in 1969, beginning a life filled with love, resilience, and accomplishment. Soon after, Amy launched her career as a real estate agent, quickly establishing herself as a trusted and rising figure in the industry.

In 1973, she embraced motherhood with the birth of her first son, Eric, and later welcomed her second son, Chris, in 1979. Balancing her role as a devoted mother with her professional ambitions, Amy went above and beyond by founding her own brokerage, Amyroyal, in 1985. Her fiery passion and keen insight into people’s needs made her a successful and respected businesswoman who built lasting relationships wherever she went.

Beyond her professional and family life, Amy found joy in life’s finer details. She was a fantastic cook, delighting her family and friends with her culinary creations that brought everyone together. A lover of classical music, her home was often filled with the sounds of her favorite artists, Charles Aznavour and Joe Dassin, creating an atmosphere of elegance and warmth. Her love for travel, writing, and fashion were other hallmarks of her vibrant personality, and her impeccable style and creativity inspired everyone she met.

After the passing of her beloved husband, Hagop, in 2014, Amy embraced her artistic side, becoming an accomplished painter. Her works were featured in several art gallery showings throughout Greater Montreal, a testament to her lifelong drive to create and inspire.

Amy is survived by her sons, Eric and Christopher; her sister Ani; her brother Onnig; her nephews and nieces, Ivan, Anita, Maida, and Souren; her sisters-in-law Mary and Garine; her brothers-in-law Stephen and Sebouh; and her nieces and nephews Yeran, Suzi, Gary, and Vasken, along with their children Rick, Jill, and Alex.

A funeral service to celebrate Amy’s extraordinary life will be held at Sourp Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church in Montreal on Friday, January 31st, at 10:30 AM.
