Alice Nourian December 04 , 1941 - March 29 , 2023
Born in Alexandria, Egypt. She taught mathematics, while studying Fine Arts at the University of Alexandria. She came to Montreal in 1970. She devoted herself to full time painting in 1977. A self –taught artist, she specialized in the art of knife-painting in oils. Her works were exposed in galleries and corporate centers.
She was well known in the Armenian community, mostly with the Armenian from Egypt group and the Tekeyan Armenian Cultural Center. Her family is very proud of her accomplishments as an artist and also as a role model for them. Alice was a very positive person and she definitely knew how to enjoy life to the fullest. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida, swimming in the sea and taking sun. On a daily basis, she loved telling jokes, cooking and eating delicious food, drinking coffee and having a daily dose of chocolate.
She will be truly missed by her family and friends, near and far. She leaves behind her niece Elsa (Carlos), nephew Dikran (Tracy), Her great nieces Alicia (David) and Cassandra (Julian) and her sister-in-law Renée. She will now be joining her parents (Vartanouche and Dikran), her siblings (Elise and Vahan) and her many beloved cats (Pocho, Chicho, Bimbo)…
We will be respecting Alice’s last wishes to hold a private service.
If there are a few lessons we could learn from Alice, it would be to enjoy life to its fullest. To follow your passions and never let anyone tell you not to pursue your dreams. Challenge yourselves and take the time to laugh every day.
Feel free to reach out to Alice’s niece Elsa through messenger or by text (514) 758-2580
