Hagop Dermeguerditchian

Master Watchmaker • Outdoorsman • Family Man
Born in Lebanon Passed Away – July 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hagop Dermeguerditchian, who left this world peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lebanon to Noubar Dermeguerditchian and Margaret Hajinian, Hagop carried a deep pride in his heritage, a love of tradition, and an unmatched dedication to his craft.

His fascination with time began at just 10 years old, when he dismantled his grandmother’s clock—his first “repair,” and the spark that led him to become a master watchmaker. Through decades of meticulous work, Hagop became known for his precision, patience, and artistry in restoring cherished timepieces.

Beyond the workshop, Hagop was a man of the outdoors. He was known as the best fisherman, often jokingly remembered for the thoughtful conversations he shared with the trouts. Whether in the woods or at his beloved chalet, he found peace in nature and joy in every quiet moment.

He also had a deep love for cooking and eating—not just for the food, but for the experience. Hagop savored every bite and every moment. He was always the last to finish his meal, eating each plate one at a time, never in a rush—just as he lived: with intention, appreciation, and grace.

But the greatest part of Hagop’s life was spent with Suzanne, the woman who will always be remembered as the love of his life. Though it took him forty years to declare it, their bond was timeless. Through life’s highs and lows, they stood by each other’s side. In his final days, Suzanne never left him, and the family truly believes that her unwavering presence brought him great comfort. On behalf of the entire family, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Suzanne—for your strength, devotion, and the love you gave him so selflessly. Thank you for everything.

He is survived by his beloved sisters: Haygo Chamsi, Hasmig Barbarian, and Caroline Dermeguerditchian. He was a proud and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, all of whom carry his memory with deep affection and gratitude.

Hagop will be remembered for his humility, humor, craftsmanship, and above all, his deep love for family, tradition, and those closest to his heart.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
