Kevork Ozgunduz May 19 , 1956 - November 13 , 2023

Kevork Ozgunduz was born on May 19, 1956 in Malatia, Turkey. He was raised by his parents, Vartanoush Doner and Ilyas Ozgunduz.

In 1978, he met the love of his life, Sara Vartanali. They quickly fell in love and got married on July 13, 1979. Together, they went on to have two children. They had their first born son Sarkis Ozgunduz on June 25, 1980 and Ardashes Ozgunduz on August 30, 1985.

In 1982, Kevork made the difficult decision to leave behind his family, friends and everything he had known to move to Canada in an effort to preserve his family’s Armenian heritage. Moving to Canada, Kevork knew very little English and spoke no word of Armenian but in his heart, he cherished his Armenian identity. He worked as an industrial mechanic, often even worked two jobs to ensure he was able to send his two kids to an Armenian school.

Kevork was dedicated to learn Armenian. He taught himself the language by studying the Armenian dictionary and eventually went on to speak the language fluently.

Today, Kevork is survived by his wife, Sara, his two children, Sarkis & Ardashes, his daughter in law Armig as well as his two grandchildren that he loved so dearly, Clara and Serge.

Kevork Ozgunduz was a great husband, father, father inlaw and grandfather. He loved deeply and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his family, today and every day.

We are so heartbroken of the news of the passing of George. Sara may his memory be enteral. Wishing you strength during this difficult journey forward. To the boys, Amy and kids. Your dad, father in law and grandfather was an awesome man. I will never forget all the laughs we had when he built our backyard balcony. Will forever be in my heart and remember him.
Sending prayers,hugs and love
